In what could be the beginning of a series of class action product liability cases, frozen foods manufacturer CRF has announced a recall of nearly 400 products across 42 brands, one of the biggest product recalls of all time. The recall was announced after the company’s products were connected to a multi-state listeria outbreak that have led to eight hospitalizations and two deaths so far.
Six of the eight cases have occurred in California, and more will likely be discovered as a result of the recall. If you live in the Los Angeles County area and have contracted listeria, or have a loved one who has, you should meet with a lawyer from Kirtland & Packard LLP as soon as possible.
Symptoms of listeria include:
- Aching muscles
- Stiff necks
The disease is especially harmful to pregnant women, and may lead to a miscarriage or premature delivery. For a full list of the products being recalled, visit the list on the FDA website.
If you have frozen food in your freezer and had a loved one suffer hospitalization or death due to listeria or other food poisoning, you may have grounds for a lawsuit against CRF Frozen Foods. Lawyers at Kirtland & Packard LLP will meet with you and help you decide what is the best next step for you to take.
